From Tallin in Estonia, to Australia, David Bate‘s approach through cinema and photography, human behaviours, space and architecture, is to find what is similar is the western world. How being different, we share common ground, accepting however our differences. His series of recent photos, is a journey, an attend to define what is in the notions of likeness, sameness and together; it is also to suggest, as a conviction, that, talking of friendship, we are weakened when we discard what makes us different each other. If we explore the boundaries between the sameness and the difference, we question our ability of living together.
The issue of is not in the recognition of the sameness, but in the division, a kind of split between public and private, their boundaries, nature and city, how we engage our implication. How we think urban space, nature, the cellular life and the possibility of thinking about the world in perpetual motion, the effects of globalisation.
